This is particularly true for the suppliers of automotive OEMs. They are expected to be even more flexible in the future than is already the case. To adapt to this, two things are important: the ability to make good predictions and agility.

The corona pandemic has pretty mercilessly uncovered what has long been problematic with our global supply chains: They are trimmed at efficient costs, security of supply is neglected. In the future, more resilience is essential.

"For logistics service providers in the automotive market, the business is becoming increasingly demanding. They are expanding their own vertical integration by also taking over the sequencing of modules from automotive suppliers - sometimes with very complex assembly requirements," says Sebastian Glückert, Managing Director at nemetris.
