Where do the IT experts of the future actually come from? From Hechingen, for example.

One event that our colleague Tatjana Michler always looks forward to in particular is the event organised as part of the STEM project run by Albstadt-Sigmaringen University in collaboration with Hechingen Grammar School. The aim of the project is to inspire young people to pursue studies and careers in computer science.

As every year, the pupils were able to build small vehicles using Lego Mindstorms and programme them via drag & drop; these then competed against each other in a ‘Robo-Battle’, amongst other things. And the young IT talent was really on the ball: from small creative ‘weapons’ on the vehicles to clever movement algorithms that pushed the opponent out of the ring, there was truly everything on offer.

The event was met with great enthusiasm by both pupils and teachers. We are delighted that there is such a high level of interest in IT projects among young people!
